!DEADLINE EXTENDED! Life Veneto Adapt: a call for twinning addressed to all the italian and european cities is now open.

The cities of the LIFE Project Veneto ADAPT are happy to launch a CALL FOR TWINNING addressed to all the Italian and European cities, with the aim of creating a network of shared knowledges, experiences, and insights on planning and implementation of adaptation to climate change in urban areas, also in synergy with the Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy initiative.

If your city is willing to share its experiences and learn more on adaptation through a mutual exchange of understandings, projects, policies and actions, this is what we are going to do together:

  • Exchange of professionals between twinned cities;
  • Show case to learn innovative adaptation solutions at local level;
  • Use of the methodos and tools developed by Veneto ADAPT for vulnerability analysis, stakeholders mapping and involvement, Adaptation goals and actions settings, and Guidelines for moving from SEAP to SECAP;
  • Visit on-site the adaptation solutions planned and implemented in our cities.

The first part of the programme will be held online in 2020 and in 2021 (depending on the changing situation of the COVID-19 epidemy) the programme will continue with meetings and visits in presence.

The LIFE project Veneto ADAPT aims at developing and testing a coherent approach for enhancing the capacity to respond to the impact of climate change in the Italian Veneto Region, with a particular focus on hydrogeological risk, through a networking initiative developed in the central Veneto conurbation (3,5 million inhabitants), between the Metropolitan City of Venice and the Municipalities of Padua, Vicenza, Treviso, Cadoneghe, Curtarolo, Vigodarzere.
